Take time to enjoy the outdoors walking in virgin heritage forest with a guide in Otaki Forks, Kapiti Coast, New Zealand
Come to walk with us as your guides in Otaki Forks foothills of the Tararuas through ecological forest, seeing areas on private land so not covered by the DOC Forest Park walks. This is a secret that's been untapped with sounds of splashing water you hear you walk and cross streams, the amazing smell of flowering trees, shades of green vegetation. and the dam when full of water with the overflowing We, as your guides will give information and answer questions about the trees, orchids and ferns. You will be provided with a refreshment during your 3 hours together. Walks will vary in ease of walking, the easiest being to the Historic Arcus Dam site to view the Lake of Remembrance -Rotomahara. Other walks will include the emergency track developed when Otaki Gorge Road was closed December 23rd 2016 to July 15 2017 now called 'Kathy's way to the forest'(steep), and also on the Hill of Hope across the Pukeatua Stream ( ground uneven in parts steep) and when negotiated with neighbouring properties.
